FORMATIVE began with this simple question. Based in Shenzhen, China, we are exploring the connections between education practice, schools and learning design.

A clearer language for meaningful experience.
Children do more than receive content. They learn how to notice, question, decide, make a response and meet change. We want to help educators design experiences that make room for these processes.
FORMATIVE does not attempt to replace existing educational philosophies or claim ownership of established ideas. It provides a practical framework for designing experiences where capabilities can emerge, be observed and transferred.

COLLABORATION, WITH CLEAR ROLES
Shared exploration. Distinct roles.
FORMATIVE focuses on methodology, an education framework and practice tools. The International School Action Alliance (ISAA) is a separate school-network and cross-school collaboration concept.
FORMATIVE may explore collaboration with education networks such as ISAA. ISAA is not a FORMATIVE sub-brand; this does not imply an existing member network or a confirmed partnership.
